Official Contest Guidelines
Advance registration is required to participate. All entries must be received no later than close of business (5 p.m.) on October 30, 2009
Set-up begins promptly at 10 a.m. and must be completed by 11:45 a.m. Clean up must be completed by 5 p.m.
Judging will begin promptly at 12:30 for both the Brownie Battle & Chili Challenge. Each entrant will be responsible for delivering his or her brownies or chili to the judging area no later than 12:30. Late submissions will not be accepted.
Entrants will be assigned an operating space according to their entry (brownie or chili) on a first come, first served basis.
All entrants must operate designated booth in a sanitary manner. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
All operating spaces must be attended at ALL TIMES.
Brownie Battle
- All entrants will be provided a designated preparation and distribution space.
- Brownie entries must provide a list of ALL ingredients used in the recipe; list is to be submitted at the time of check-in and on display throughout the event.
- NO pre-packaged brownies or brownie mixes are permitted.
- All brownies must be prepared prior to the event.
- Entrants should prepare an ample number of brownies to serve judges (6 average sized brownies) and for sale to the general public; all proceeds will benefit Brehon.
- All entrants will be assigned an entry number and designated receptacles in which brownies will be submitted for judging.
Brownie winners will receive:
1st place : Trophy, cash prize and their picture on the Brehon website
2nd place: The Perfect Brownie Pan (as seen on TV)
3rd place: A $25 Target gift card
Chili Challenge
- All entrants will be provided access to 1 [one] electrical outlet (according to need) and a designated operating space.
- Chili entries must provide a list of ALL ingredients used in the recipe; list is to be submitted at the time of check-in and on display throughout the event.
- NO pre-packaged mixes are permitted.
- All chili must be prepared prior to the event.
- Entrants are responsible for providing all ingredients, utensils, accessories, and equipment necessary to maintain heated chili throughout the competition.
- Entrants should prepare an ample amount of chili to serve judges (6 cups) and for sale to the general public; all proceeds will benefit Brehon.
- All entrants will be assigned an entry number and designated receptacles in which chili will be submitted for judging.
Chili winners will receive:
1st place : Trophy, cash prize and their picture on the Brehon website
2nd place: A chili pot
3rd place: A $25 Target gift card
